Ana Laura Calderón is a Mexican producer, director, screenwriter and editor graduated from EICTV, Cuba. In 2007, she creates ALAS OCULTAS, based in Mexico City, to produce her own projects.
Since its creation, ALAS OCULTAS has produced feature and short films that have won awards at important festivals around the world. We primarily tell stories with female protagonists who overcome adversity to find more meaning or happiness in their lives.
Among its productions is the feature documentary “The Island of youth”, official selection at Morelia, DocsBarcelona, Festival de la Memoria, DOCSDF, and Trieste, and Best Documentary at the Riviera Maya Festival. Also, the short films “Always on my mind”, “To Die”, “Terranova”, and “Under the same Sky”, the latter with the support of Procine, Samba Filmworks and Terminal.
Sponsor of events such as MICE Cuba and MICE Valencia (International Educational Film Festival), Mexican Film Festival in Rome and the Mexico through the lense of women filmmakers at the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center in Austin, Texas.
